When you are responsible for something as important as a “Journey Planner” which is used by a substantial number of commuters using public transport, ensuring the tool is user friendly, reliable and accurate tool is of primary importance.
For the update of their online Journey Planner tool, regional council Environment Canterbury approached hairyLemon for help. The project ended up also being conducted for Wellington’s regional council, with the intention of providing working prototypes that could be user tested as the basis of the final integrated development stage.
hairyLemon’s UX specialists undertook a usage research exercise over for both services, utilising the customer database and social media to identify research subjects, as well as an onsite survey tool.
We also carried out UX modelling and user testing within the Axure prototyping tool (including 4 phases of iterations) and created and submitted the finished interactive wireframes to the client for the next stage of the development process.
