Midwifery Council

The Midwifery Council of New Zealand is the official organisation tasked with managing the registration of the country's midwives. No midwife can legally practice in New Zealand without registration, so the accuracy of their systems is critical.

The Council approached hairyLemon for the redesign and build of their website, with the primary objective of changing many of their paper based processes into online processes. This was a task undertaken by our developers, who needed to scope out all the tasks that were to be replicated in an online environment, as well as creating a usable and intuitive process for midwives as they logged in, updated their training information, registered or applied for registration.

The complex functionality of the site, along with integration to the webservices already in place required a major investment of resources, but resulted in a streamlined website that works effectively for the organisation and its members. Further stages of development are planned, as more and more of the workload gets transferred to a streamlined digital environment.
