The Midwifery Council of New Zealand is the official organisation who oversees the registration of the country's midwives. No midwife can legally practice in New Zealand without their accreditation, therefore the accuracy of their systems is critical for the registration process to be precise, smooth and seamless.
When approaching hairyLemon for the redesign and build of their website, the council's primary objective was to merge paper based processes into an online format. This was undertaken by our savvy developers scoped out all of the tasks that were to be replicated in an online environment – where they feel right at home! We have created an extremely user friendly and intuitive interface for midwives as they log in, and they can now update their training information and registration details with ease.
The complex functionality of the site, along with integration to the web services already in place required a major investment of resources, however the payoff was a sharp and streamlined website that works effectively for the organisation and its members. Further stages of development are in the pipeline, as more of the workload gets transferred to be further in tune with the current digital environment.
